The ability to understand and work with numbers can be challenging for many individuals regardless of their literacy skills. Many of the treatment plans require patients to interpret numbers to make decisions about what medicine to take, how to take their medication and to monitor their nutrition. In addition, healthcare consumers are faced with complicated insurance policies, co-pays and etc.
In this workshop we will discuss strategies on how to educate and empower patients by improving communication that involves numeracy.
